01 / START WITH THE CONTROLLER

Digital pulse, bus or analog input?

DIGITAL / DWP-ENC

Need pulse or absolute position?

ABZ HTL / TTL, CANopen, SSI or RS485. Define the actual decoder, protocol and supply.

Choose a draw-wire encoder →
ANALOG / DWP-POS + DWP-SP

Need a current loop or voltage?

4–20 mA, 0–10 V or a 5 kΩ / 10 kΩ voltage divider. Match signal conditioning to your input.

Choose an analog position sensor →

02 / FIVE ROUTES TO LINEAR FEEDBACK

From compact wire pots to long travel.

Family ranges are selection envelopes. Output availability, linearity, cable construction, drawings and delivery are confirmed for the quoted configuration.

03 / REPLACING AN INSTALLED SENSOR?

Same stroke is only the first check.

Send the complete Celesco, SICK, Micro-Epsilon, Kübler or UniMeasure part number. We review travel, footprint, cable forces, signal scaling and protocol before proposing a DWP configuration.

SUPPLY YOUR SELECTION INPUTS
  1. Active stroke + reserve travel
  2. Signal, supply + controller input
  3. Speed, acceleration + mounting
  4. Environment + target uncertainty
INSTALLATION NOTE / CONTROL THE RETURN

Never release an extended measuring cable.

Hold the cable end and guide retraction throughout installation. Free snapback can injure the installer and damage the cable, drum or sensing element. Keep the cable aligned with the outlet; use a suitable guide pulley for a change of direction.

Stroke, cycle rate, speed, acceleration, cable force and contamination determine service life. Request the specific model instructions and validated limits.
